It’s been a while since I posted. Not necessarily because i didn’t want to, but I’ve been trying to overcome the stress of the last semester. The spring semester was absolutely crazy, the classes much more difficult than I expected. I passed with an A, two B’s and a C – how I managed to not fail on that C I have no idea! No summer classes, which is making me a bit batty, but I’m all registered for the fall semester (begins August 22).
I’m really looking forward to my fall classes, I’ll be taking:
- Forensic Anthropology
- Archaeology of Burial and Death
- German I
- Beginning VADA (an art class – elective)
For those who have followed before, this will be my THIRD TIME trying to learn a foreign language. I neeeeed this language to graduate, so this really is my last possible chance. Fingers crossed.
I’m looking forward to both Forensics and the Archaeology class. I’ve looked up the books I need for those classes and it looks like it’ll be a lot of Osteology, which I find fascinating. My schedule, however, is going to be a crazy one….
As you can see, Monday and Wednesdays, I’ll be at school til 9:15pm. On Wednesday I’ll be taking FOUR classes. Ick!
I need to figure out how to eat during all this school time without resorting to constant trips to Subway or Einstein Bagels! My doctor wants me to cut out a lot of things from my diet – white flour, white rice, white potatoes, sugar/hfcs… it’s going to make everything really difficult to manage during the course of a school day.
I’m hoping to get back into my meditation practice. I don’t really have a location in my home where I can sit and meditate, there’s really no peaceful place here. I’ve been looking up different meditation techniques, reading books, and watching videos. As usual, I research research research before I actually take the leap and DO IT.
I’m working on getting my mental illness under control. With no classes to occupy my mind, I’ve been easily distracted, my symptoms have gotten tons worse. My doctor has chosen to increase my meds, but decrease my sleep meds, so I’m not sleeping well. Hopefully before class starts the necessary changes will be made and I’ll be back on track.
I’ve been having difficulty with my joints. They’re cold and painful. My doctor gave me an anti-inflammatory, and I have an appointment next week for bloodwork to rule out rheumatoid arthritis. No idea where this is going, but I’m not looking forward to the journey.
I think that’s about it for now, everything’s all caught up, and hopefully I’ll keep things on track in the upcoming months. Everyone have a great day!
